Timbatec founder Stefan Zöllig at the Bau+Energie trade fair in Bern

16. Nov 2016

At the beginning of December, the Bau+Energie trade fair invites construction professionals to the BERNEXPO exhibition and congress center. Numerous events will also take place at the trade fair, which runs from December 8 to 11. Timbatec founder Stefan Zöllig will be speaking at several of these events about his experiences with timber constructions.

The 22nd Autumn Seminar, the kick-off event on the opening day of this year's Bau+EnergieMesse, is entitled "Digitalization is revolutionizing the energy sector". Topics include the federal government's Energy Strategy 2050, the influence of digitalization in the construction and energy sector and innovations in solar and building technology.

Over a dozen speakers have been invited, including Marc Chardonnens, Director of the Federal Office for the Environment FOEN, and Timbatec Managing Director Stefan Zöllig, a qualified timber construction engineer FH. He spoke about the advantages of timber construction, the building material that consumes the least energy. His topic: "The elephant in the living room - that everyone sees but nobody talks about. Why we should build with wood now." The kick-off event on December 8, sponsored by Timbatec, will run from 9.30 am to 2.45 pm.

Trend towards large-volume timber buildings - also in the Bern region

Stefan Zöllig will not only be speaking on the opening day of the trade fair, but also at the "Architecture Forum" on the second day of the fair. The event will take place on Friday, December 9 from 3.30 to 5.30 pm. It will be all about the tension between architecture in times of high-density construction and the energy transition. At the "Architecture Forum", Stefan Zöllig will speak on the topic of "City made of wood - large-volume timber buildings in the Bern region".

Registration is required for both events. The opening event on December 8 costs CHF 120 including refreshments during breaks and aperitif, conference folder and admission to the exhibition, CHF 80 for students. Admission to the Architecture Forum on December 9 is free of charge. Information and registration at www.bau-energie.ch

In addition, Timbatec founder Stefan Zöllig and Marcel Herzog from TS3 will explain the new technology that TS3 has developed.
