The Timbatec engineers congratulate Johann Maître on his most innovative Bachelor's thesis at the Bern University of Applied Sciences, Architecture, Wood and Civil Engineering (BFH AHB). We would also like to congratulate Pascal Schönbächler, Sebastian Zwahlen and Stefan Vogt on their graduation as Bachelor of Science in Wood Technology at the BFH AHB. All four diploma students completed their internship at Timbatec engineers.

On Friday September 19th 106 Bachelor graduates were awarded their diplomas at the Bern University of Applied Sciences in Biel. Around 700 visitors from business and education policy as well as members of the diploma students took part in the graduation ceremony to congratulate the graduates. Among the graduands were four engineers who had completed their one-year internship at Timbatec engineers.


The Timbatec engineers are particularly proud of Johann Maître. His diploma thesis with the title: "Frontal bonding of cross laminated timber: development and analysis of processes for the reinforcement of bonded joints" was chosen as the most innovative bachelor's thesis in 2018.


The aim of the thesis was to improve the final strength of the TS3 technology with frontal bonding of wood. This technology is used to develop load-bearing ceiling systems over a wide area so that the use of beams can be dispensed with.


The Timbatec engineers are very pleased that Johann Maître and Stefan Vogt, two newly qualified engineers, have joined the team. We are looking forward to a good cooperation.
